  • 6 cloves Garlic Cloves Fresh garlic preferred
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Can substitute with melted butter
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste
  • ½ cup Butter Melted; can use margarine or vegan butter
  • 1 large Egg Can use flax egg for vegan version
  • ¼ cup Milk Non-dairy milk can be used
  • ½ tsp Paprika Can substitute with Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped, dried herbs can be less
Bread
  • 12 rolls King's Hawaiian Rolls Can substitute with French baguette
Topping
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese Shredded; blend with cheddar for added flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and mash the garlic cloves, mix with olive oil and salt, wrap in foil, and roast for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Combine melted butter, egg, milk, paprika, and salt in a bowl and whisk until smooth.
  4. Mix roasted garlic into the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Slice the King's Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  6. Spread garlic butter generously over the cut surfaces of the rolls.
  7. Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the buttered rolls.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and rolls are golden brown.
  9. Let cool briefly, then garnish with parsley and serve warm.
