Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine your ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix gently and set aside.
  2. Scoop out portions of the meat mixture and roll into uniform balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place on a plate.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches and cook for about 8-10 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  4. Add more oil to the skillet if needed, and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and optional red pepper flakes, cooking for about 2 minutes.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and stir it into the sauce, cooking until thickened (1-2 minutes).
  6. Return meatballs to the skillet, gently coating them with the sauce for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm over rice or noodles, or as appetizers.

Notes

Gentle mixing prevents tough meatballs. Let meatballs sit in the sauce for a few minutes for flavor infusion. Adjust honey sweetness as needed. Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
