- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked penne, shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, cream (or milk), smoked paprika, garlic powder, and half of the cheddar cheese. Mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Optional: Sauté breadcrumbs in olive oil until golden, then sprinkle on top before baking.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish if desired.
