Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Whisk together until smooth.
  3. Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper on all sides.
  4. Coat the chicken thighs in the marinade, ensuring they are covered. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  5. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken thighs skin-side down for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Flip to sear the other side briefly.
  6. Check the thighs, then pour any remaining marinade over them and bake for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Baste the chicken halfway through the baking process with the marinade.
  8. After baking, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
