  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Skip if the candy’s hue isn’t a concern.

Method
 

Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the glucose syrup, sugar, gelatin, and modified potato starch. Stir continuously over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth.
  2. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in citric, lactic, and malic acids until thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Incorporate the artificial flavor and turmeric (or FD&C Blue No. 1) into the mixture and stir well for about 2 minutes.
  4. Pour the prepared mixture into candy molds shaped like rings without air bubbles.
  5. Let the molds sit at room temperature for approximately 4-6 hours until set firm.
  6. Once set, remove from molds and place the candies in a single layer to dry for several hours.
