Preparation
- Begin by dicing one green pepper, chopping a yellow onion, and halving a handful of grape tomatoes. Shred about two cups of iceberg lettuce and set the olives aside.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add in 8 ounces of rotini pasta and cook it until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brown 1 pound of ground beef until no pink remains, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled rotini pasta, browned beef, diced vegetables, shredded cheese, and olives. Gently toss the ingredients together until well mixed.
- Pour a generous amount of French dressing over the salad mixture, and toss until everything is evenly coated. Let the salad sit for about 10 minutes.
- Just before serving, crush a handful of Doritos and sprinkle them over the top of the salad.
