  • 1 cup hot coffee or boiling water

Cake Preparation

  3. Add the wet ingredients: milk, oil, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract; stir gently until incorporated.
  4. Gradually pour in the hot coffee, mixing until the batter is smooth and fluid.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
