- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Cream together ½ cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Mix in ½ cup of buttermilk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt in a separate bowl. Fold into wet ingredients.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

- Prepare the glaze by whisking together 1 cup of powdered sugar, ¼ cup of maple syrup, and 1-2 tablespoons of milk or cream.
