Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Transfer the browned beef mixture to your slow cooker. Add kidney beans, black beans, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Pour in beef broth and add the spices. Mix well.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours until thickened. Stir occasionally for richer flavor.
  4. Check thickness and adjust with additional beef broth if desired. Serve hot with optional toppings.
