- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Whisk together until thorough.
- Gradually pour in warm milk, melted unsalted butter, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
- Cover with a towel and let the mixture rest for 10 minutes in a warm place.
- Gradually add an additional cup of flour, stirring gently until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the kneaded dough back into the bowl and let it rise in a warm area for about 45 minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick. Use a donut cutter to cut out about 12 donuts.
- Allow the donuts to rise for about 20 minutes until slightly puffed.
