Preparation
- Begin by measuring and preparing all your ingredients for the Dump and Go Crockpot Chili.
- Chop the onion finely to ensure even cooking, and drain and rinse the kidney beans under cold water.
- Gather the diced tomatoes, chili powder, minced garlic, and any optional bell peppers you wish to include.
Cooking
- In a large skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef and chopped onion, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
- Once done, drain any excess fat, and let cool briefly before moving to the next step.
- Transfer the browned beef and onion mixture to your crockpot; otherwise, place the raw ground beef directly into the pot.
- Add the rinsed kidney beans, canned diced tomatoes, and chili powder.
- Stir gently to ensure everything is well combined.
- Set your crockpot to cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, ladle the piping hot chili into bowls and serve.
