Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning, and simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add grated Parmesan cheese and mix until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Calzone Assembly
- Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick and cut into six circles.
- Spread a tablespoon of the Alfredo sauce in the center of each dough circle.
- Add shredded cooked chicken and a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella on top of the sauce.
Sealing Calzones
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape, pinching the edges together tightly.
- Use a fork to crimp the edges if desired and set the sealed calzones aside until ready to cook.
Cooking
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes and lightly grease the basket.
- Place calzones in the air fryer basket, ensuring enough space around each for air circulation.
- Air fry at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking until golden brown and crispy.
Serving
- Remove calzones from air fryer and brush the tops with softened butter.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm with marinara sauce on the side.
