- Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil, add rice and a pinch of salt, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add 1 pound of ground beef or turkey and cook until browned for about 5-7 minutes.
- Sprinkle taco seasoning over the cooked meat, add 1/3 cup of water and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Prepare toppings: Dice 1-2 tomatoes, shred 1 cup of lettuce, and slice half an onion. Rinse 1 can of beans.
- Assemble the bowl with cooked rice, seasoned meat, beans, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions.
- Drizzle salsa or crema over the top, sprinkle cilantro, and squeeze lime juice before serving.
