  • 1 pound Beef Chuck Roast or brisket/round roast
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil or any neutral cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust based on broth
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper or white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder or fresh chopped onions
For the Au Jus
  • 4 cups Beef Broth or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce or tamari for gluten-free
For the Sandwiches
  • 4 pieces Hoagie Rolls fresh or gluten-free
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese optional, can use Swiss or mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley optional for garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Dry the beef chuck roast with paper towels, then rub with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Optional: In a skillet, heat olive oil and sear the seasoned roast for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. Transfer the beef roast to the Crockpot.
  4. In a bowl, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce, then pour it over the roast.
  5. Cover the Crockpot and cook on low for about 8 hours.
  6. After cooking, shred the beef into bite-sized pieces and return to the juices.
  7. Preheat the broiler. Fill hoagie rolls with shredded beef and top with provolone cheese, then broil for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Serve sandwiches with a small bowl of au jus for dipping, garnished with fresh parsley.
