Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 cup shrimp, cooked and chopped Frozen shrimp works well when thawed.
  • 1 cup crab meat, drained Canned crab is a great substitute if fresh isn’t available.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Monterey Jack is perfect, but mozzarella can also do.
  • 1/2 cup queso dip Use your favorite store-bought kind or make your own.
For the Taquitos
  • 10 pieces tortillas Use corn for a crispy bite or flour for easy rolling.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Any neutral oil works if you're out of olive oil.

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing Bowl
  • baking sheet
  • toothpicks

Method

Step‑By‑Step Instructions
  1. Prep the Filling: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add your chopped shrimp and drained crab meat, along with minced garlic and spices of your choice. Stir frequently for about 3–4 minutes until everything is heated through and fragrant.
  2. Mix: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp and crab with shredded cheese and queso dip. Use a spatula to fold them together until the mixture is creamy and well-blended, around 2–3 minutes.
  3. Assemble: Take a tortilla and place a generous portion of the filling towards one edge. Roll the tortilla tightly over the filling and secure it with a toothpick or keep it closed.
  4. Bake: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Let the taquitos cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Pair with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping.
