Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Slice brioche or challah bread into 1-inch thick slices and arrange in greased baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour custard mixture over arranged bread slices, pressing down to soak well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Remove plastic wrap and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
  6. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top and caramelize using a kitchen torch or broiler.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving, topped with fresh berries, powdered sugar, and maple syrup.
