Preparation Steps
- Slice brioche or challah bread into 1-inch thick slices and arrange in greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- Pour custard mixture over arranged bread slices, pressing down to soak well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove plastic wrap and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar on top and caramelize using a kitchen torch or broiler.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, topped with fresh berries, powdered sugar, and maple syrup.
