- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat and transfer to slow cooker.
- Pour browned meat into slow cooker, add onion, garlic, kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Pour in broth and sprinkle spices. Stir well to combine.
- Cover slow cooker and set to cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
- After cooking, taste and adjust seasoning if needed, mixing well before serving.
- Ladle chili into bowls and top with cheese, sour cream, green onions, and tortilla chips.
