Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat and transfer to slow cooker.
  2. Pour browned meat into slow cooker, add onion, garlic, kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato paste. Pour in broth and sprinkle spices. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover slow cooker and set to cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  4. After cooking, taste and adjust seasoning if needed, mixing well before serving.
  5. Ladle chili into bowls and top with cheese, sour cream, green onions, and tortilla chips.
