  • 2 Garlic Cloves Minced, fresh preferred
  • 3 cups Cooked White Rice Can use leftover rice or jasmine/brown rice
  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup Can substitute with cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup Milk or Beef Broth For thinning the soup
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese Shredded, mix with Monterey Jack or Colby for creaminess
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Smoked paprika can be used for more flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Parsley For garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion for 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk or beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. In the greased dish, combine cooked rice, beef mixture, and half of the cheddar cheese. Pour sauce over and mix well.
  6. Top with remaining cheddar cheese, then cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. For a crisp finish, broil for 2 minutes, watching closely. Let cool before serving.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
