Step-by-Step Instructions for Banana Bread Cheesecake
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened full-fat cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes. Gradually add vanilla extract and flour, mixing until just combined. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk vegetable oil, brown sugar, and eggs until well blended. Fold in mashed bananas until fully incorporated. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Pour cheesecake filling into the greased springform pan and smooth it evenly. Spoon the banana bread batter over the cheesecake layer.
  5. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until edges are firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool inside the oven for about 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature, about 1-2 hours, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. Prepare the frosting by beating cream cheese and unsalted butter together until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar until smooth.
  8. Spread the creamy frosting evenly over the chilled cheesecake and sprinkle chopped walnuts on top for garnish.
